Things of Metal and Wood brings you bespoke, handmade furniture crafted right here on the Sunshine Coast. Pieces are lovingly created from locally sourced materials to produce unique furniture designed from steel, aluminium, stainless steel and furniture grade hardwood timber.
Paolo Baretta
For over 30 years, designer and craftsman Paolo Baretta has been creating unique statement pieces and functional collections as a Sheet Metal Worker and Furniture Craftsman.
His passion for using locally sourced, quality materials led to the establishment of Things of Metal and Wood.
As a Sunshine Coast family business, the Baretta’s have a passion for locally made pieces and their Maroochydore showroom is filled with a display of Custom Furniture to suit any space.
Custom Furniture
With a blend of quality, responsibly sourced and new materials we pride ourselves in being specialists in custom made furniture. There are no set fees, rules or minimum orders and all items are created on site. Be it a tricky spot in your home or business, personalised gift, or statement piece… let us find an inspiring solution to your needs.
We work closely with our clients whether a commercial retail fit-out or a statement piece for your family home we will take the time to understand your needs and provide an innovative solution that will set your look apart.

Custom Furniture Orders
Custom orders are what we do at Things of Metal and Wood. Using locally sourced materials we can create a piece that is unique for you. All pieces are lovingly crafted in our Maroochydore workshop which adjoins a Showroom you may otherwise expect to find in the streets of Melbourne. The production time can vary depending on the materials selected for your piece, unless otherwise discussed we have a lead time of 3-6 weeks.
